We've named her the 'Duracell Bunny', and Lucy Gossage has started 2013 in the same way that she raced throughout pretty much all of 2012. Batteries fully charged after a winter of training then. Watch out for more from 'The Goss' throughout the year.

Last weekend in The Netherlands, Lucy retained her ETU Powerman Long Distance Duathlon Championship, once again beating Sweden's Eva Nyström into second place. Both Lucy and Eva went significantly faster over the same course than they did a year previously too. (If you raced in Horst, check out our extensive Team GB galleries from the Powerman and Sprint races which feature many GB Elite and Age Groupers racing).

Last week we took an in depth look at the Specialized Shiv Tri of Eva, so now lets review the race winning bike of Lucy Gossage, the Vitus Chrono Carbon.

The Vitus Chrono of Lucy Gossage is part of her sponsorship with Chain Reaction Cycles, someone who Lucy has a great relationship with; "they are a brilliant sponsor, so good to me " she says. This picture was taking straight after the ETU Powerman Champs, and so includes Speedfil drinks system and Bento box. The standard issue Vitus Chrono (not with the same custom spec show below), is actually available through CRC at a very reasonable £1799.99 currently - details HERE.

A new sponsor for 2013 is exotic wheel brand, the highly desired Lightweight. Lucy races on their Autobahn disc and 81mm Autobahn VR front wheel. Both wheels are tubular style, Lucy admitting that she was in need of some instruction on how to change them should the need arise. As a cancer doctor well on the way to her PhD, we think she'll pick that up pretty quickly. In the interim, the Bento box shown in the first picture housed her 'pit-stop' sealant.

The groupset on the bike is primarily SRAM Red - the Aero Glide 10 rear mech shown above - but does deviate with a Shimano Ultegra crankset. The cassette is a SRAM Red Powerdome. No power meter currently, but, that might well be a new addition shortly.

Lucy uses an adjustable 3T stem to achieve her desired riding position. The top tube mounted Garmin provides the numbers.
