It looks as though Greg Welch has run his last race following an announcement made on Sunday night which was picked up in today's Triathlon Digest. The retirement appears to be on medical grounds; Greg has already been diagnosed with a blood disorder and apparently his problems during the 1999 Hawaii Ironman have indicated it may be a wise move to stop altogether. Some details are on active.com and there will be a full press conference on Tuesday (online, of course.) The man will be missed.
