Hamish Carter, winner of the triathlon at the Athens Olympic Games and a 14-year veteran of the World Cup circuit has announced his retirement today according to a report on a New Zealand website: www.stuff.co.nz/3983905a1823.html. He had said that he was considering his future after losing to Tim Don at the Worlds in Lausanne last year and apparently found that he simply couldn't get motivated for the 2007 series.
