![]() Fancy Tim's wheels? Posted on: Wednesday 8th August 2007 Bookmark This | Print This Page | Send To A Friend Tim Don, current World and National triathlon champion, has taken on a new role - that of ambassador for national charity, the Willow Foundation. The Willow Foundation was set up by Arsenal legend, Bob Wilson and his wife, Megs, and funds and organises special days for seriously ill young adults (aged 16-40) throughout the UK. Tim’s association with the charity began when he made a special day possible by meeting an 18-year-old fan, who is living with organ failure. The young fan’s one wish was to meet Tim on his special day and the memories of the day have kept him going through the tough times of his illness. “After getting involved with one of Willow’s special days, I realised what a big impact they can have on people’s lives and how rewarding it is to make them happen. I’m honoured that the Foundation has given me the opportunity to help provide many more special days for seriously ill young adults,” said Tim. In order to help raise the charity's profile, Tim is auctioning off the special edition Bontrager carbon wheels that he used when he won the 2006 World Championship. If you would like to bid for them (highest bid received by the closing date of August 24th wins) you can email your contact details and your bid to willow@timdon.com and the winner will be announced at the end of August.
