Congratulations to Michelle Parsons on her Silver medal at Powerman Malaysia, more details to follow on Monday.

Andy Potts (USA) has won the Ford Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Clearwater in 3:42:33 ahead of Oscar Galindez (ARG) and Andrew Johns. Other GB elite results include Fraser Cartmell in seventh, Jonathan Hotchkiss 19th, Andrew Fargus 21st, James Hadley 27th and Spencer Smith a DNF. It looks as though Simon Lessing didn't start.

Julie Dibens led the women's race from the start with a 50m buffer after the swim and a two minute lead at T2 but the effort of maintaining that through the first half of the run seemed to take its toll and she was passed by a charging Mirinda Carfrae (USA) who stole the win with a perfectly timed run in 4:07:25 - a new world's best. Defending Champion Sam McGlone (CAN) also ran past for second place while Leanda Cave took third. Julie had to settle for fourth and collapsed over the line. Cat Morrison was fifth, Michelle Lee was tenth and Abi Bayley was 14th.

We are still picking through the age group results - we so wish they could be sorted by country - and so far we have identified Silver medals for Richard Iles and David Patten plus Bronze medals for Dion Harrison and Daf Belt. More to come once we get the final results.

Earlier today at the triandrun Ballbuster Duathlon in Surrey, Philip Wylie took the lead on the second run and held off the Spring Ballbuster winner, Lee Piercey to claim victory in 2:42:30. Helen Parkinson (Torbay TC) won the women's race in 3:02:50.
