So, you've been fitted for a bike and now you're thinking of buying one... While we can all dream about finding a shiny Cervélo, Trek or Specialized under the tree (dream on...), there is one tri bike that caught our attention this year as an absolute bargain for the first timer. We first saw it at the Cycle Show in London and we're hoping to get one in for a test ride early in the New Year.

Many people will have spent up to £900 on their first bike by the time they have fitted a set of tri bars and a proper tri saddle... ...and what they have is still a road bike with some bits bolted on. So, how about spending the same amount of money and getting a full-on tri bike with a proper steep seat angle, decent tri bars and a top quality tri saddle already fitted? So, just where would you get a proper tri bike for £900? The answer is the Focus Izalco Tria which gets imported into the UK by Wiggle. It's an option well worth considering if the potential giver choked when you mentioned the price of that carbon fibre frame you were drooling over...
