It looks like the dispute between the ITU and the ETU is turning personal. Erika Koenig, the ETU'sngeneral secretary has received written threats of legal action herncritical article that was published last month on the TriathlonnLive website. An Austrian-based lawyer, acting on behalf of the ITUnand Ms Christine Brown (the niece of ITU official Loreen Barnett),nwrote to Ms Koenig last week threatening action for libel over thenarticle unless they received an apology and retraction, and paymentnof less than US$400. The governing executive board of the ETU todaynannounced its full support for Erika.
