Many years ago several of the leading swimwear companies unsuccessfully tried to launch waterproof music systems and, up until now, none have been truly successful or reliable. Thankfully though, that has all changed and if counting pool tiles is driving you crazy then the Dolphin MP3 Player will definitely help entertain you during those long, lonely swimming sessions!

The exclusive Dolphin waterproof MP3 player really is 100% waterproof as I found out during a 3000m swim session. OK, so my swimming pals did find me a little unsociable as I sang away to some of my favourite tunes, but it certainly kept me entertained. The compact MP3 player comes with waterproof earphones and a rubber band which easily attaches to your swimming goggles to hold it in place. The players has been designed for all water sports, but is definitely useful for swimmers and triathletes, who endure endless hours each week with their heads immersed underwater with little to entertain them other than counting strokes and pool tiles.

The Nu Dolphin Waterproof MP3 player, which retails at around £69.99, is ultra-light at just 25g and provides 1GB storage capacity (roughly eight hours of non stop music), all within a very compact package (60x20x20mm). And, in case you are doubtful of its waterproofness, the device is also certified under the international 'IPX7' water resistant standard and is fully submersible up to one metre from the surface. Overall, a jolly good investment if you're looking for a good, underwater music system.

I have been one of these for about 6 months and it works really well. Very easy to upload cd's or buy music etc. using Windows Media Player.

It holds quite a few albums, certainly enough for you not to get bored.

Would advise wearing a swimming hat so that the earphones do not fall out.

It also works well as a normal MP3 player.

Overall I would give it 8/10.
