No times just yet but the news from Bryn Bach Park is that Tim Don failed to complete his umblemished five-year run as National Champion, coming second to Will Clarke with Stuart Hayes in third place. Special mention must be made of the official who courteously stood right in front of the webcam as they finished... Olly Freeman was fourth and Joao Silva (POR) was fifth. Brownlee finished ninth with stomach problems.

Hollie Avil won the women's elite race with Liz Blatchford in second place and Andrea Whitcombe in third. Both Blatchford and Whitcombe had technical problems on the bike; a dropped chain and a puncture on the last lap respectively, and worked hard to get back into contention. Jodie Swallow was fourth and Kerry Lang fifth.
