The most prestigious and elite triathlon events in the country are combining to establish the newly formed British Triathlon Super Series. British Triathlon in partnership with IMG Mass Participation Sports and Human Race have created a five event summer series which will be broadcast by Channel 4 Television.

The 2009 Series promises to be very exciting with many of the world's premier competitors arriving back on British shores to take part in a series of events at Strathclyde Country Park, Blenheim, Windsor, Parc Bryn Bach and London respectively.

Zara Hyde Peters the Chief Executive Officer of British Triathlon welcomed the partnership by saying:
“It is very unique that a governing body and two independent event organisers have joined forces to further the development and profile of the sport in the way that IMG, Human Race and British Triathlon have done. I would like to thank everyone involved for making this possible, it can only benefit the sport as we build up to London 2012 and beyond.”

Nick Rusling, Managing Director of IMG Mass Participation Sports, is looking forward to the British Triathlon Super Series:

By hosting the largest events in the world like the Mazda London and Blenheim Triathlons, with a global participation base, the UK is proving itself as a firm bastion of triathlon as a very modern and increasingly popular sport”.

“The Nokia Royal Windsor Triathlon is honored to join this series. This will be the most exciting thing that's happened in the sport for a long time. Five high quality races, in fantastic locations, are joining up to provide some great showcase events for the sport as we head to the London 2012.
