Kingfisher Aquathlon Sunday 8th May 2011

With glorious sunshine over the last few weeks the heavens decided to open over the race weekend, making for uncertain weather conditions for the 2011 Kingfisher Aquathlon (formerly Morden 6n6). After a heavy downpour first prior to race start, the rain disappeared and the sun shone on the 10th anniversary running of the race.

A record 160 participants completed the 400m pool swim and 6 mile (approx) park run.

Top male honours went to Andrew Greenleaf (Serpentine) in 36:53. Second place went to James Lock (Thames Turbo) in 38:02, with third place taken by Andrew Young in 38:44.

Tope female honours went to Becky Woodland (SLH Tri Club) in 42:20. Second place went to Sophia Saller (Optima Racing Team) in 43:50, with third place taken by Ruth Hutton (Thames Turbo Powerbar) in 45:18.

Well done to everyone who took part in this years race and hope to see you again next year!
