Eight competitors took part in Sunday's Sprint Triathlon in Peel in near perfect conditions. Overall winner in the men's race was Juan Kinley who stole the lead with a blistering bike leg and a strong run to finish. He set a new course record of 1:10:47. Gavin Quayle took second place closely followed by Andy Bell in 3rd. Juan and Gavin will both be representing the Isle of Man at the forthcoming Triathlon World Age Group Championships in Vancouver next month.

Eve O’Hare showed her strength in all three disciplines to win the ladies race and was a very impressive ninth overall. Alison Clague and Julie Lyness had a close race to take second and third positions. Sam Sherry won the Junior race in his first triathlon event, and finished an impressive 16th overall.
