The event on Sunday 22 June 2008 will see fundraisers aiming to beat as many ‘top bananas’ as they can as they run around the flat, traffic-free laps at Kempton Park.

Ten people with personal experiences of leukaemia and other blood cancers have been chosen to dress up as ‘bananas’ and act as pace setters in the fun run. This run follows the Bananaman Chase held in London last year where 1,200 people took part, raising over £500,000.

The ‘top bananas’ start ahead of the runners and each run at different paces, so whether you are a fast runner or want to walk you will have the chance to beat a ‘banana’. It’s great fun and there are still places available. For the first time this year, there will be a junior Bananaman chase for entrants under 12. A band and other entertainment will make it a great day out for all the family.

Money raised from the event will go towards Leukaemia Research’s challenging goal of committing over £100million to leading research and clinical trials with blood cancer patients over the next five years.

All entrants will receive plenty of support with their fundraising and a race-day t-shirt. Finishers will get the much sought-after ‘Bananaman medal’ as well as lots of other goodies for taking part. Anyone over 16 is welcome to join the adult race to beat the ‘top bananas’, and help raise vital cash to fight blood cancers.

Register now for only £15. Entrance to the Junior Bananaman Chase is just £3. There’s still time to join the pack of runners preparing for the unique opportunity. We’ll make sure you’re well looked after and have a great triathlon but in return we need your help. We want to make sure people of all ages facing blood cancers have the best chance of survival.
Our research is bringing results. Treatments are improving and more people are surviving, but it’s expensive. We need to raise more than £100 million over the next five years.
Whether you are new to triathlons or a seasoned professional, please join our team and help us to beat blood cancers.
