Olympic Triathlon Schedule
The Olympic Games Triathlon takes place as Tokyo 2020 gets under way a year late due to the global pandemic.
Vincent Luis, Jonny Brownlee, Flora Duffy and Nicola Spirig head a galaxy of stars who will do battle for gold in the Japanese capital.
Three races will take place in front of a global TV audience, started by the men’s race on Monday July 26 (Sunday July 25 in UK and the United States).
A day later the women’s race will take centre stage, and the new mixed relay will bring down the curtain on triathlon proceedings on July 31 (July 30 in the UK and the United States).
There has been significant opposition from the Japanese public to the Games actually going ahead in the midst of the pandemic. But as of now it appears the show will go on.
We will bring you all the latest news, interviews and insight as we count down to sport’s greatest show on earth.
Who will win the Olympic Games triathlon?
Good question, and not an easy one to answer. But our expert John Levison has previewed all three of the races.
His men’s preview forecasts a wide open race with a number of stars in with a chance of medal chances.
On the women’s side, he is forecasting history in the shape of a first ever Olympic gold medal for one specific nation.
