INTRODUCING THE ROCKET X: LAUNCH OFF THE LINE

Available for purchase online from 30th October 2020

For better or worse, the running shoe industry has been significantly changed over recent years with the introduction of carbon fibre plated shoes and developments in foam and midsole technology. While the headlines (and market share) on that front have been primarily taken by the mighty ‘swoosh’ based in Oregon, there has been no shortage of rival brands developing their own brand new shoe tech.

In recent months, we have featured new additions from Saucony and On, while the adidas Adizero Adios Pro has already graced the feet of world record holders, world champions… and in triathlon, Alistair Brownlee. Brooks, New Balance and Asics are others competing in this increasingly competitive market.

HOKA ONE ONE (www.hokaoneone.eu) have been hugely popular within the triathlon world for several years now and the ‘carbon’ sector is certainly far from new to them, with the Carbon X having been a popular part of their range for some time now.

They now have a new addition to their range – which can be purchased online from Friday, the Rocket X. Priced in the UK at £140 (€160), here’s what the brand – who recently signed 3-time IRONMAN World Champion, Jan Frodeno – have to say about their latest product. Will these be gracing the feet of ‘Frodo’ in Kona next year?

HOKA ONE ONE Rocket X

One of the most energetic shoes HOKA has launched to date, the Rocket X is an incredibly lightweight, insanely responsive racer geared for elite athletes. The lightest racing flat in the HOKA lineup, this all-speed shoe is engineered to launch off the line. Primed for shorter distances, the Rocket X utilises the same responsive carbon fibre plate as the Carbon X, delivering a fast, efficient and propulsive ride.

Built for race day, this speed dagger employs the lightest foam in HOKA history, a soft midsole carrier, breathable mesh upper and lightweight, rubberised foam outsole that reduces weight.

The shoe that launched Aliphine Tuliamuk onto the winner’s podium of the US Olympic Marathon trials earlier this year, the Rocket X is speed weaponry at its best. Adrenaline will be pumping when lacing up this impossibly fast race flat.
