Entries for the 2019 Clumber Duathlon are open for the event on 23 March. The popular north Nottinghamshire duathlon takes place in the beautiful National Trust Park and is being organised under a new banner of the Tri Society.
The Clumber Duathlon has been running since 2008. Prior to that it took place as a triathlon event. It’s featured as a national duathlon championship event on several occasions and regularly offers places in the GB Age Group team.
This year there are places on offer the 2020 ITU World Championships across age groups from 18 to 80+. The event also welcomes novices, who will be cheered around the course by an experienced crew of staff and volunteers.
Entries are being accepted through the new Tri Society website. This was recently launched to host the Clumber Duathlon and Triathlon Relays – two of the longest established and most popular events on the triathlon calendar. These have previously been organised by OSB Events, and event director and OSB founder, Iain Hamilton will continue to deliver both events. There will be a change of branding, but regular competitors will enjoy the same high standards of event delivery and multisport fun.
Iain Hamilton commented: “There have been a few changes this year, and Clumber and the Triathlon Relays no longer operate under the OSB Events banner. The Tri Society name was conceived back in the 1990s but was never used as One Step Beyond Promotions grew beyond imagination and later became OSB Events.”
He added: “I would encourage prospective competitors to enter sooner rather than later as we have quite a few places already taken up as a result of last year’s snow deferred date.”
