Triathlon Events Calendar
Our triathlon events calendar carries details of all major upcoming races around the world. From Olympic distance to 70.3 to Ironman, we’ll keep you right up to date with when and where the big events are happening. Not forgetting the newer formats like Super League Triathlon too.
As well as providing dates for all of the upcoming races, we’ll also give you details of whether they are Age-Group only or have a Pro race as well. The biggest races of the year will also carry detailed profiles around history, and how you can enter.
IRONMAN Triathlon
IRONMAN stages hundreds of major events each year and we will carry details of all of them here. Triathletes the world over yearn to reach the finish line of an IRONMAN event to hear the famous words: “You are an Ironman” - the participation element is enormous.
The Pro side is significant too and 2022 will see not one but two stagings of the IRONMAN World Championship. The delayed 2021 running lands in St George, Utah in May before the famous event is due to return to its spiritual home in Kona, Hawaii for the 2022 race in October.
World Triathlon
The global governing body for the sport, which stages the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS, formerly WTS) with short-course superstars battling it throughout the year in events around the world.
Short-course stars are also the triathlon dish of the day when it comes to the Olympic Games - with the next medals up for grabs in less than three years in Paris 2024. World Triathlon is also the governing body and race organiser for Paratriathlon - which has provided so many epic moments and performances down the years.
Challenge Family
Doesn’t have quite the same depth of events as IRONMAN, but makes up for that in quality. Challenge Roth and The Championship in Samorin to name but two are absolute prime dates on the triathlon calendar each year.
Super League Triathlon
Still relatively new, but growing in popularity with fast and exciting formats which are made for TV viewing. Many leading broadcasters have aired Super League in recent years, and the racing has not disappointed with the world’s top short-course names providing epic finishes.
Professional Triathletes Organisation
Set up to help the interest of professional triathletes - as the name suggests. Has significant financial backing and has been boosting prize money in a big way since its major launch in early 2020. Staged the first renewal of its flagship Collins Cup team event in August 2021, and expects to have multiple major dates on the calendar in years to come.
XTERRA
Pivotal in the growth of off-road triathlon formats, and with a World Championship which has seen some of triathlon’s biggest names come out victorious. Among the roll of honour is reigning Olympic Triathlon champion Flora Duffy.
