IRONMAN UK finishers medals – how many have you got?!

Months of training for a t-shirt and a medal – ok, plus more than a few memories too.

The IRONMAN finishers medal is what motivates many to reach the magic red carpet at an IRONMAN finish line, whether it is a “one and done”, or a “repeat offender”. Bolton on Sunday will see the 13th edition of IRONMAN UK, since the event was first held at Sherborne Castle in 2005, before moving to Bolton for the 2009 edition.

We’ve not seen what awaits 2017 finishers yet [UPDATED – we’ve now, post-race, added it in!]… but here is a look back at the 12 medals that have been handed out at the IRONMAN UK finish lines during its history to date.

Has anyone collected ALL of them? Yes, that list is currently down to just four athlete we understand: Neil Kapoor, David Meller, Mark Rees and Kate Stannett. Of course, all are on the start list again for Sunday…
