Andy Greenleaf is heading to Kona

Regular readers of Tri247 will likely be familiar with the name of Andy Greenleaf. One of the top Age-Group athletes in the country, Andy is the course record holder for the Ballbuster Duathlon (HERE), was the first Age-Group athlete overall at Ironman Wales last year (HERE) and also at both Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire (HERE) and Ironman 70.3 Wimbleball (HERE) this year. He is also a previous winner of our ERDINGER Athlete of the Month award.

Known for his blistering run splits (Andy is a 2:21 marathon runner), in the lead up to Ironman 70.3 Dublin yesterday, Andy provided some guidance and tips on how to conquer the run in an Ironman 70.3 race. His approach clearly works – he had the fastest run on the day, 1:11:46, by a huge margin.

Qualifying for his first Ironman World Championships in Tenby last year, here is a great video profile featuring Andy in his preparations for Kona this October. Hopefully we’ll get to see more in the lead up to the event.
