The Beth Potter / Cassandre Beaugrand rivalry will resume in April at the Supertri E World Triathlon Championship.

British star Potter got the better of her French foe in 2023, culminating with a first WTCS world title.

And she started 2024 in similar vein when seeing off Beaugrand in the Supertri indoor showdown in London.

Perfect 2024 for Beaugrand

But Beaugrand turned the tables in spectacular style after that as she claimed a first Olympic title in front of her home fans in Paris, with Potter taking the bronze.

And then the Frenchwoman added the world title with another dominant display in the Grand Final in Torremolinos as Potter finished second.

Beaugrand had already been confirmed a starter for the Supertri E World Triathlon Championship at the London Aquatic Centre on 5 April and now it has been announced that defending champion Potter will also take part.

Can Potter produce more magic?

The format fuses the worlds of real life and virtual racing and this year the finals will mirror the unique outdoor Supertri format of three continuous rounds of swim, bike and run.

Potter and Beaugrand have been the standout female performers in recent years in an event where there is virtually zero margin for error.

Last year it went down to the wire before Potter produced trademark perfect transitions as well as a superb swim, bike and run to finally pull clear on the very final phase.

And Potter’s presence mean both reigning champions will be back, with American Chase McQueen taking on Jonny Brownlee and co in the men’s event.
