The final European race of the 2021 Challenge Family season was held on Sunday at Challenge Peguera-Mallorca. The popular event attracted significant Pro interest and given the quality of athletes on show, not surprisingly, two highly competitive races.

As we reported on Saturday, Frederik Funk (GER) and Nicola Spirig (SUI) – the 2021 Europe Triathlon Middle Distance Champions – both matched those positions from Challenge Walchsee to take narrow victories.

Following up on that report – and with great thanks to regular contributor José Luis Hourcade (www.joseluishourcade.com) – we can bring you the story of the race in pictures.
