Start times and how to follow live

Pro Women

Coming in as the reigning IRONMAN World Champion and current PTO World #3, Charles-Barclay will be the overwhelming favourite to take the win in Nice this weekend.

Following her recent announcement that she would seek to defend her title in the South of France in September, testing herself on a very similar course on Sunday can only be beneficial to her world championship preparations.

The Londoner has never finished off the podium in a professional long distance race, with a record of 5 wins, six second place finishes and one third place finish spanning eight years of pro racing.

In Nice, Charles-Barclay looks certain of extending that record, with only two other athletes, Sara Svensk and Julie Iemmolo, ranked inside the PTO Top 100.

Competing for the podium and a Nice slot, both Iemmolo and Svensk are fairly even matched, with Iemmolo coming out on top at IRONMAN Hamburg and Svensk getting the better of her counterpart at IRONMAN 70.3 Mallorca so far this season.

Other podium contenders on the start list include French athlete Justine Guerard, who is making her full distance debut, plus Swiss athlete Nina Derron, who will be chasing a first professional podium in five years.

Prize Money: What’s on the line?

The prize purse on offer this weekend is $50,000 – with each of the winners collecting a $7,500 share of that total.

In addition to prize purse, there will be two qualifying spots for the IRONMAN World Championship in Nice later this season.

The total funds will be paid eight-deep, as follows:

  1. $28,000
  2. $5,000
  3. $3,750
  4. $3,000
  5. $2,000
  6. $1,500
  7. $1,250
  8. $1,000
