Danielle Lewis, just two weeks after finishing fifth at Challenge Roth, took the first full distance win of her career at IRONMAN Lake Placid, thanks in part to a 2:52:23 marathon.

In second, Jackie Hering pulled off another Pro Series podium after her win at IRONMAN Hamburg, with defending champion Alice Alberts rounding out the podium in third.

Top ranked Sarah True, who moved into the lead in the early stages of the run and looked capable of taking the win, faltered late on and tried to walk it in, before deciding to DNF.
