Kat Matthews took her third podium of the season on Sunday, as the British distance star took a dominant win at IRONMAN Vitoria-Gasteiz in the Basque Country.

Following a strong swim and bike, the PTO World #5 cracked the field with a 2:54:40 marathon to take her second full distance win of the season, after taking the tape at IRONMAN Texas in April.

Els Visser, third at Challenge Roth seven days ago, finished in second, with Great Britain’s Ruth Astle picking up her first podium in 18 months with a brilliant third place finish.
