The next step in the sporting journey of Alex Yee takes place tonight in Berlin, when he represents Great Britain in the 10,000m at the European Athletics Championships in Berlin. Race start time is 19:20 UK time. Live coverage should be available on the BBC.

A talent across triathlon, duathlon and running, Alex has been both European and World Junior Duathlon champion, and qualified for Berlin by virtue of a stunning victory at the British 10,000m Championships, held earlier in May this year in conjunction with the Highgate Harriers Night of the 10,000m PB’s event in Highgate. He recorded a stunning time of 27:51.94 that evening, to just edge out his team mates tonight, Andy Vernon and Chris Thompson.

Best of luck to Alex, who has made a truly incredible recovery from an absolutely awful bike crash at the Cagliari ITU Triathlon World Cup in June last year.
