Although the ever popular 7Oaks Triathlon has sold out of general entries, the club is pleased to promote the ten charity places available for their Triathlon being held on Sunday 29th April 2018.

The places have been donated by 7Oaks Tri Club to “ellenor“, a charity supporting families facing terminal illness across Kent and Bexley.

About ellenor

ellenor offers a different approach to care for children, in that instead of them coming to the hospice, the hospice comes to them, allowing the family to stay together. We were the UK’s first children’s full hospice at home service, and still one of only a very few acute services providing oncology and end of life care to seriously ill babies, children and young adults in the home. We are the only charity in Kent and Bexley to provide such care. We support children receiving chemotherapy in their own homes, which can reduce the need for hospital visits, enabling the child to remain around their families at a difficult time. We offer a seamless service of care for children and young people, age 0-25; working closely with a variety of care providers to provide chemotherapy, palliative care, end of life care. ellenor cares for the whole family and recognises every member of the family needs support. ellenor cares 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and relies on the generous support from the community for funding. ellenor is also part of CHaL, helping to improve children’s hospice care across London.

‘Nothing can prepare you for having a life-limited child. Mia has brain damage caused by a bleed on the brain and in her first few days of life we faced saying goodbye to our daughter. Now with the support of ellenor we can care for her at home. We could be blessed with five to 15 years with our precious daughter and every year we reach will be a milestone. I feel safe knowing ellenor will be by our side throughout.’ Liz.
