PTO PARTNERS WITH THE DEUCES WILD ENDURANCE FESTIVAL
IN ARIZONA, USA ON 5TH JUNE 2021

The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) today announced that it has partnered with Mountain Man Events to provide a professional prize purse along with media and marketing support for the Deuces Wild Endurance Festival, a USA Triathlon sanctioned event on the 5th  & 6th June, in the cool White Mountains of North Eastern Arizona.

The PTO will provide $15,000 of prize money along with media and marketing support to showcase the event and its athletes to fans. USA Triathlon, the national governing body for the sport in the USA, will also contribute marketing and promotional efforts around the event.

The professional race, the DeuceMan, which takes place on the 5th June, is the most challenging race at the Deuces Wild Endurance Festival and is a long-distance race covering 70.3 miles through some of the most beautiful scenery in Arizona. It includes a one lap, 1.2-mile swim in Fool Hollow Lake, a 56-mile hilly but fast bike through Ponderosa Pines, high desert forests and small towns and communities, and a 13.1 mile run on a nicely groomed, scenic trail and park roads around Fool Hollow Lake.

PTO Professionals will also be able to earn vital points as they battle for a coveted automatic qualification spot for The Collins Cup or possibly obtain a Captain’s Pick by attracting the attention of Team Captains.

Charles Adamo, Executive Chairman of the PTO commented, “We are pleased that racing is beginning to return and we are happy to have the opportunity to support USA Triathlon and grassroot events. It is a tribute to the hard work of USA Triathlon and race director, Sean Ryan, to host an event in these difficult times and demonstrates that when our community comes together, we can persevere to provide athletes with great racing opportunities. It is an honour to be part of an event that not only puts on display the resilience of those committed to supporting our sport, but also gives our PTO Professionals the chance to race and earn points towards Collins Cup qualification.”

Sean Ryan, race director of Mountain Man Events stated, “We are excited to partner with the Professional Triathletes Organisation to host a pro field at the Deuces Wild Endurance Festival on the 5th of June, 2021. It is wonderful to be able to hold a race in the current climate when so many races elsewhere have been cancelled. This is a locally owned, grassroots, family-friendly event, and we are excited to welcome PTO Professionals to the race. We thank the PTO and USA Triathlon for their support.”

Rocky Harris, CEO of USA Triathlon added, “USA Triathlon is thrilled to support the Deuces Wild Endurance Festival as a racing opportunity for professionals in the U.S. with not only prize money, but also qualification for the Collins Cup on the line. This festival weekend hosts 15 separate races including triathlons, aquabike, runs and relays and is the host of both the Arizona High School State Championships and Age Group State Championships. The addition of a prize purse by the PTO should attract a strong professional line-up and give our amazing field of age group athletes the chance to race with some of the best professionals in the sport on the same course at the same time.”
