An all too familiar theme for events in 2020 – the longest-standing event on the SLT schedule, Super League Triathlon Jersey, has had to be cancelled due to the ongoing implications caused by the coronavirus outbreak. The Jersey event would have been taking place for the fourth time over the weekend of 19-20 September 2020.

Here’s an extract from the full statement that you can read on the Super League Triathlon website:

RBC Super League Triathlon Jersey, together with the Government of Jersey, has taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event due to the continuing uncertainty around COVID-19.

To maintain the spirit and values of RBC Super League Triathlon Jersey we are excited to launch a Community Challenge open to everyone on the island which will promote health and wellbeing and engage local communities to raise funds for the island’s charities.

If the community can collectively log 20,000km of swimming, cycling, running or walking between 1 September and what would have been the race weekend of 20 September, RBC will donate £20,000 to Mind Jersey.
