PROFESSIONAL TRIATHLETES ORGANISATION PARTNERS WITH
THE COPA BRASILIA DE TRIATHLON

The Professional Triathletes Organisation today announced that it will provide a $15,000 professional prize purse for The Copa Brasilia Triathlon on 13th June 2021.

The Copa Brasila Triathlon is a 13-year-old race that takes place in Brasilia – a city that is home to the Brasilian Triathlon Federation alongside the many professionals who have represented Brasil on an international stage including Leandro Macedo, Alexandre Manzam and Mariana Ohata.

The professional race is a non-drafting race and has a 2-lap swim of 1,500m in Lake Paranoa, a challenging 6-lap, 60km cycle with an elevation of 1,000m and a flat 3-lap 15k run.

The start list for the men’s race includes Igor Amorelli and Santiago Ascenco, and the female line-up includes Pamella Oliveira.

Charles Adamo, Executive Chairman of the PTO commented, “The PTO continues to help support local and regional races and our triathlon community. Brasil has had nearly all its races cancelled due to Covid-19 so we are pleased to have the opportunity to support the Brazilian triathlon community. It is a tribute to race director Sergio Tostes and his team at MKS Esportes that they are able to host this event. We are grateful to be a part of it.”

Sergio Tostes, MKS Esportes race director stated, “It is wonderful to be able to hold our event in the current climate when so many races elsewhere have been cancelled. It will be great to see professionals and amateur athletes unite for a fantastic race. We are excited to welcome PTO Professionals to the race and thank the PTO for their support.”

PTO Professional, Pamella Oliveira stated, “Being a professional athlete without a competition is like being a teacher without students. The PTO have given professional athletes the chance to work in a very difficult year”.

PTO Professional, Reinaldo Colucci commented “2020 has been such a difficult year and one that no one could have predicted. It has been an honour to work with race director Sergio Tostes to provide an alternative racing opportunity for professionals in Brasil. Thanks to the PTO we can create opportunities like this, and we are so grateful to have the chance to be a part of The Copa Brasilia de Triathlon and have a race here in Brasil.”

There are still places available at the Copa Brasilia de Triathlon and those interested can find out more at https://www.mksesportes.com.br/copa-brasilia-de-triathlon
