Second edition of Hispaman Xtreme Triathlon

Sweden and Austria are quickest in Spain…

With athletes from 22 countries around the world, the second edition of the Hispaman Xtreme Triathlon (www.hxtri.com) was held in Spain on Saturday. This event was won last year by Great Britain’s Michelle Parsons.

Part of the XTRI World Tour, the challenging iron-distance race features 3,400m of climbing on the bike and a further 2,000m of ascent on the run too. The swim starts near to the Peñíscola Castle, finishing in Vistabella del Maestrat, with the finish line open until 3 a.m.

The top two male and female finishers automatically qualified for the XTRI World Championship, which will be held alongside the 2020 edition of the Norseman Xtreme Triathlon (the inaugural edition won this year by Lucy Gossage).

You can see what the Hispaman is all about, with its ‘Back to the Roots’ tagline, courtesy of this highlights video and extended image gallery.
