Alison Rowatt runs 2:45:30 at the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon

Scotland’s Alison Rowatt is, without question, one of the best Age-Group triathletes in the UK – and has been for many years now.

The Team Freespeed member finished second at Kona in 2016 in the F35-39 division – the third time in four appearances in Hawaii that she has returned home with the coveted Umeke trophy. Those results earned her our ERDINGER Athlete of the Month Award for October 2016.

So consistent is Alison that for years I have referred to her as ‘The Postman‘, because… she always delivers!

She did that once again on Sunday, finishing the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon (her first ‘open’ marathon), in a very swift 2:45:30 (that’s 6:19/mile pace). For reference, Gwen Jorgensen clocked 2:41:01 in New York.

Alison won the 35-39 category in Los Angeles by over 20 minutes – and recorded the seventh fastest female time of the day.
