It wasn’t just the professional women taking centre stage in Hawaii on Saturday as thousands of age-group athletes also got their richly-deserved day in the burning sun of Kona.

They enjoyed the culmination of a long period of hard work and qualification at the race of a lifetime as triathlon once again returned to its spiritual home for IRONMAN Kona 2023 on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Triathletes of all ages and abilities took on the biggest challenge the sport can present – 140.6 miles in brutal conditions finished by the most punishing of marathons, which ends with the finishing chute down the fabled Ali’i Drive.
