Meet Ben Wickham!

Ben is going to be doing his first long distance triathlon and has chosen the iconic race that is Challenge Roth on the 9th July for his debut. Why are we are featuring him? As well as being a really nice guy, Ben has been racing Sprint and Olympic distance triathlon for a number of years having been a half decent runner and getting the bug and wanting to qualify for the world champs. Having qualified twice and been once (Chicago), a chat with his coach (the well-known Martin Yelling http://yellingperformance.com), resulted in Martin saying “you’re a bit shit at short distance racing, why don’t you go long?” Ben decided if he was doing that he may as well go to “The best triathlon in the world’ (™ Challenge) and committed to Roth. Oh and he is looking to go pretty fast too – Sub 10hours which, for your first long distance event, is quite a statement. So join us, Ben and Martin on his journey to Challenge Roth!
