With the Commonwealth Games just over a week away, bad news for Liam Lloyd of Team Wales. British Triathlon have confirmed this morning (full details HERE), that Liam has had to withdraw from the team due to injury.

A member of the Welsh team in the Mixed Relay event at Glasgow four years ago, Lloyd was due to take part in the Relay once again in Gold Coast alongside Non Stanford, Iestyn Harrett and Olivia Mathias. His place will now be filled by Chris Silver.

“Obviously it is really hard to take, that I will be unable to race at the Commonwealth Games. However I’m sure that my team mates will represent Team Wales to the best of their ability.”
