Question marks over Miami T100 winner’s health after nasty bike crash ahead of Singapore T100

Magnus Ditlev (DEN) is now a doubt for the Singapore T100 Triathlon World Tour following a bike crash in training, with seemingly significant damage to his wrist and knee after "slipping" on a speed bump.

Magnus Ditlev, the PTO World #2 and leader of the T100 Triathlon World Tour, looks to be a doubt for the Singapore T100 this weekend after a nasty crash in the buildup to the race.

Ditlev, who last year won Challenge Roth for the second successive year and finished third at the IRONMAN World Championships, started the season in emphatic fashion last month with a win at the Miami T100.

The pre-race favourite for this weekend, it now remains to be seen if the 26-year-old will start and if he does, how the crash will impact his ability to swim, bike and run to his full potential.

“It was just stupid”

Captured by the T100 YouTube account, Ditlev tells the team after being picked up from the crash site that “I just slipped on a speed bump” whilst out on a training ride.

With his helmet severely damaged, Ditlev recalled the crash and said that as well as hitting his head, a knock to his left wrist and knee had left him in a lot of pain.

Discussing his wrist, the Dane said “I’m not sure if it was just the impact or if something has actually happened”, with the PTO team trying to help him as he assessed the damage.

TRI247 reached out to the PTO for comment, but at the time of writing had received no response. Hopefully, Ditlev recovers in time to race on Sunday, with updates posted on the site when they become available.
