We are less than two weeks away from crowning triathlon’s women’s WTCS world champion of 2024, with a stellar start list set to line up in Torremolinos-Andalucia.

On Saturday October 19, a star-studded field will enter the water in Spain, with Olympic champion Cassandre Beaugrand heading the race to claim global glory after a thrilling season of action.

Beaugrand sat out the recent showdown in Weihai, as Germany’s Lisa Tertsch thrust herself right into title contention by claiming a first ever WTCS win.

Tertsch is now third in the standings, with reigning world champion Beth Potter separating her from Beaugrand. Potter followed Lisa home in China, with another British star Georgia Taylor-Brown completing the podium.

France’s Emma Lombardi – who also sat out Weihai – sits fourth in the standings with the in-form Taylor-Brown fifth and coming off another supertri victory last weekend, this time in Toulouse.

There will be some star power missing in Spain, with a trio of big short-course names all competing instead in that T100 Lake Las Vegas showdown in the US. They are American duo Taylor Knibb and Taylor Spivey, along with Bermuda’s former Olympic and world champion Flora Duffy.

While Knibb and Spivey are both missing, 2016 Olympic champion Gwen Jorgensen will represent the US after making her return from a broken collarbone in Weihai. Britain’s Vicky Holland meanwhile – recently crowned European champion in Vichy – will race for the final time to crown a brilliant pro career.
