IRONMAN Ireland / IRONMAN 70.3 Staff (officially) postponed
IRONMAN Ireland, Cork and IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire are just two of the 14 events that have been officially postponed from the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) series. Revised event dates and/or options for entrants to those two events are promised by April 30th.
In addition to all of the postponements below – which includes both the IRONMAN 70.3 European Championship (Elsinore) and the IRONMAN European Championship (Frankfurt) – IRONMAN have issued the following guidance in relation to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic:
“We have been following and will continue to follow the direction and recommendations of public health agencies and local authorities and are committed to informing athlete as soon as possible if they are affected by changes to their race. Going forward, athletes will receive an update no later than 50 days before their scheduled race date, and we endeavor to ensure these updates come even earlier wherever possible.
At the time of writing, the first IRONMAN 70.3 events that are not – yet at least – postponed within Europe are Jonkoping (Sweden) and Les Sables d’Olonne (France) on July 5th, with IRONMAN Austria (Klagenfurt) also scheduled to take place on the same day. With the IRONMAN team having worked through the June calendar, these events – plus others, including IRONMAN UK, Bolton – will be the next under review.
