Combine your passion for racing with your sense of adventure at Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon in Ireland this May Bank Holiday

Castle Triathlon Series, organisers of Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon in Ireland have added a new off-road 10k race to their festival of triathlon and multisport on Sunday, May 27th. This new race distance comes on the back of the addition of their off-road half marathon to the weekend as part of the new Castle Run Series of events alongside the whole of the Castle Triathlon Series in the UK, France and Ireland.

These new running events of the Castle Run Series give runners of all abilities the opportunity to enjoy the incredible off-road course on the privately-owned castle grounds which have previously only been open to triathletes competing over the race weekend. Even better, there’s now more in store for a tri leisure break, adding runs and swims to an already packed triathlon festival programme over the bank holiday weekend.

The Lough Cutra Half Marathon and 10K Run add to a bumper weekend at Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon, which has been award three Triathlon Ireland qualifying races, including the National Series Standard Distance race, the Super Series Standard Distance Race and the Mixed Relay Club Championships. The event has seen 50% growth in sign-ups this year with the hat-trick of events and new running races making Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon the second biggest multisport festival weekend in Ireland.

Majestic Running Route

The off-road Half Marathon and 10k will take place in and around the fabulous estate at Lough Cutra Castle on the outskirts of Galway City. Referred to as the City of the Tribes, Galway comes alive in the Summer with an abundance of arts, culture, sport and food festivals. Voted one of the worlds friendliest cities it is the perfect destination for all the family for the UK Bank Holiday Weekend.

Mixed with a festival of triathlon, swimming and running in Lough Cutra you can combine your passion for sport with your spirit of adventure by taking to the West of Ireland for the Bank Holiday. The off road running route sees participants enjoy a track, trail, grass and road with the spectacular scenery shimmering in the early morning dew and growing sunshine. Runners finish in front of the noble castle to rapturous applause, well-deserved medal and the now famous finish line atmosphere and post-race treats. The event village will be filled with music acts, a climbing wall and food stalls, adding to the weekend festival atmosphere.

Irish Adventure

The off-road half marathon and 10k form part of the 2018 two day festival of triathlon and multisport in Galway of triathlon, running and swim only events to choose from. With onsite camping and a reduced rate on Irish Ferries, there’s no excuse not to travel to Galway for a weekend of sport and culture on May 26th & 27th 2018. Go with your tri buddies or bring the family on and Irish sporting adventure.
