Young Kiwi continues breakthrough 2019 season at Super League Triathlon Malta

Third at the Tokyo Olympic Test event, second at the Super League Jersey and Gold at the ITU Junior/U23 Mixed Relay World Championship – it has certainly been a fine season for New Zealand’s Hayden Wilde.

The continued this past weekend at Super League Triathlon Malta, where he added another podium finish to his C.V., taking third place behind Vincent Luis (FRA) and Kristian Blummenfelt. It wasn’t an easy weekend though, which began on Friday with a big bike crash in training which left him battered, bruised and with stitches in his face. He’s a real character too – and his racing season is not over yet.

I spoke to Hayden after racing on both Saturday and Sunday and yu can check those videos out below, along with some great images of his weekend from the fantastic Super League Triathlon photography team.
