The Commonwealth Games Triathlon start lists gained some new names on Wednesday, with the announcement of the athletes set to race for Team Wales.

The Birmingham 2022 events will feature individual, mixed team relay and paratriathlon events, across two days, July 29 and 31, in Sutton Park.

The selected athletes are as follows:

  • Elite Women: Non Stanford, Olivia Mathias and Issy Morris
  • Elite Men: Dominic Coy and Iestyn Harrett
  • Paratriathlon (PTVI): Rhys Jones (Guide – Rhys James)

The 2013 World Champion Stanford finished eighth in the individual race in 2018 (Gold Coast), where she was the only Welsh athlete to race over the sprint distance.

Stanford will reunite in the Mixed Relay from four years ago with Iestyn Harrett and Olivia Mathias. Commonwealth Games debutant, Dominic Coy, will complete that squad.
