Triathlon ‘super couple’ Mirinda Carfrae and Tim O’Donnell say their “family is now complete” after they announced the birth of their third child.

Writing on Instagram this weekend, Mirinda said: “Welcome to the world Jameson Felix O’Donnell – little man arrived on the 5th of December at 12:16am. Weighing in at 9lb 5oz 😅. No wonder my last couple of months were so uncomfortable 😂.

“Took us a few days to decide on his name – both @tointri and I were convinced we were having a girl. So you can imagine our surprise when a giant baby boy came out 😂🥰.

“Despite his size this was our most drama free birth… recovering quite well all things considered.

“So far Jameson has been a dream baby, mostly sleeping and feeding without much fuss. Isabelle and Finnian (particularly Isabelle) are so in love with their baby bro. It’s beautiful to see them all together & know our family is now complete 🌟.”

Legends of the sport

Mirinda won the IRONMAN World Championship three times as well as a 70.3 Worlds and returned to racing after the birth of her first two children.

The Australian notched an incredible seven Kona podiums between 2009 and 2016 and won virtually every other title that mattered in a storied career, with her style of racing often seeing her cut down her rivals on the run.

But she announced her retirement in March this year, explaining at the time: “I’ve had a wonderful career, I’m retiring because I want to spend more time with my family and I don’t feel I have any more to give to triathlon as a professional athlete.”

Since then she has provided expert insight and commentary on many of triathlon’s biggest events, including the women’s IRONMAN World Championship in Kona in October and the PTO Tour.

American O’Donnell is still racing and won IRONMAN 70.3 Peru in April this year.

Congratulations to both of them from all at TRI247.
