ATW adds St Albans Half Marathon to its events portfolio

Despite the current COVID-impacted environment, Active Training World is showing its long-term commitment to the endurance sports events industry. Having recently added events from Dengie Events and NiceTri, it will also be organising the St Albans Half Marathon moving forward.

Active Training World Ltd (ATW) are delighted to announce that they will be organising and delivering the St. Albans Half Marathon. After a difficult year in 2020, the move secures the future of the race and allows its charitable work to continue to bring the community together. Martin Day, the event’s race director will also be joining the ATW event team.

St Albans Half Marathon

ATW has been involved in providing support services to the St. Albans Half Marathon for many years, and members of the ATW team have previously enjoyed running in the event.

James Shipley, MD of Active Training World says, “We are delighted to be able to add the St. Albans Half marathon to our calendar of iconic events. The race is a real highlight on the running calendar for Hertfordshire runners and their clubs, bringing together the whole community with a range of races to make running accessible for all ages and abilities. Martin joining our team will provide a wealth of experience and knowledge to ensure the ongoing high-quality of the event.”

Martin Day, Race Director says, “After several years of organising the event, it’s a privilege to be joining the dynamic ATW team and being involved with a wider portfolio of events including major triathlons and duathlons.”

St Albans Half Marathon Trustee, Katie Foweraker, says, “It’s reassuring to know that the event is being managed by a professional and experienced event management team. We look forward to seeing the event develop in future years and continuing to raise funds for local charitable causes.”

The 2021 St Albans Half Marathon will take place on the 13th June 2021 and is open for entries now.
