Kona 2017: Post-race with Lionel Sanders

Canada’s Lionel Sanders was leading the IRONMAN World Championship until the 23 mile mark of the run, before Germany’s record-breaking Patrick Lange ran past en-route to a new Kona course record.

Two days before the race Lionel Sanders told me he was looking forward to a war – he got one, and he wouldn’t change it for anything; “I loved the battle”.
