The main domestic focus this weekend was obviously on Ironman UK taking place in Bolton for the fifth time. The wins went to defending champion Daniel Halksworth and Lucy Gossage, check out the race report HERE with results on the Ironman website. Much more coming very soon from our team in Bolton, including interviews with the winners.

The Ironman 70.3 Philippines (results HERE) saw a 4th place for Jacqui Slack behind Caroline Steffen, Bree Wee and Belinda Granger - Daz Parker seems to have been a non-starter. In the men’s event Australian Courtney Atkinson was able to prevent Ironman World Champion Pete Jacobs from making it four consecutive wins in Cebu, with David Dellow and Chris McCormack making it an Aussie sweep of the top men’s finishing positions.

On a busy weekend for WTC events, the Boulder 70.3 saw a return to racing – and second place – for Ironman/Ironman 70.3 World Champion Leanda Cave, though former 70.3 champion Melissa Hauschildt was in stunning form and crushed the bike and run while heading for an almost nine minute margin of victory.

The Wales Triathlon hosted the Welsh Middle Distance Championships and although the results don't indicate eligibility, we’re fairly sure that the winners, Olly Simon (Five Frogs) and Jayne Arnold (Celtic Tri) are also the respective national champions. Full results are HERE.

Also in Wales, and also on Saturday, the Eiras Triathlon runs both a middle distance and a standard event, the longer race was won by Stuart Travis and Sonja Nuessli (results HERE) and the standard went to Alex Foster and Nina Brenn (results HERE).

We previewed the Blithfield Sprint as it hosted the Triathlon England Sprint Championships, and the wins here went to dominant performances from the evergreen Andy Tarry (Tri Camp RT) and Jenny Latham (Tri Training Harder) - full results are HERE. Bike course flooding lead to some hasty – but excellent – changes the day before, but race day itself turned out just about perfect. A good day for the Tri247 team too, as the Editor’s wife took home an unexpected Gold in her Age Group!

The standard distance race was won by Ashley Hurdman and Charlotte Taylor, results are HERE.

Scotland held its Standard Distance championships at the Knockburn Triathlon with titles going to Andrew Hood (East Fife Triathlon Club) and Alice Hector (Gould Racing). Results are HERE.

This year's edition was won by Patrick Brown (FatBoyInc) edging out another 'old faithful', Chris Birch (East Street Cycles) while the women's trophy went to Emily Iredale (Cycleworks/Specialized). Full results are online HERE.
