Welcome to our regular Friday lunchtime feature: the Instant Interview. A little something lighthearted to make the work week end just that little bit quicker.

Triathlon isn’t just about the triathletes. There’s a whole army of people in the background from volunteers, organisers, officials, shop owners, facility managers and the whole sports infrastructure as well. We thought it would be fun to mix them in with famous, and some not so famous, athletes and get them to answer our 21 Question Instant Interview.

This week’s interviewee is Craig Doyle who, for the past couple of years has been the BBC’s "voice of triathlon". We’ve bumped into to him on many an occasion while he has been interviewing athletes in transition and when we heard that he was actually taking up the sport and would be competing over the full distance at London this year we thought he would be an ideal candidate for an Instant Interview. But that’s only the start, because we have also got him to contribute a regular column which will cover his progress as he trains for London and then, if he’s fortunate enough, an age group slot representing Ireland at the World Championships in Hamburg. If he is successful in that goal we’ll be getting one of the triathlon stars to interview him on camera as he finishes...could be an interesting twist!
