A top class field endured atrocious conditions in a thrilling race in the picturesque town of Steyning by the South Downs. A biting northerly wind, with rain, sleet and snow all added to make this a tough day. Dave Mitchinson set off at a blistering pace clocking 3:10 for each kilometre lap to build a good lead into T1. This lead was overhauled on the bike with Lee Piercy, Chris Birch, Matt Moorhouse and David Vaughan who were first into T2.

Piercy held on to win from the fast finishing Moorhouse and Vaughan, with Birch in fifth. Thames Turbo athlete and last years winner Emma Dews led a strong women's field around the course including in form Vicki Wilkinson and evergreen veteran Loretta Sollars to retain her title. BAD Tri's Peter Wheddon was first Supervet in 15th overall with Oxfords Steve Mead first Vet. A2 Tri's Adam Barlow and Sarah Wigmore were the first Juniors.
