Under-23 World's: Brownlee Gold Posted on: Sunday 8th June 2008 Bookmark This | Print This Page | Send To A Friend Cold and wet (again!) here in Vancouver this morning. Results from the ladies under-23 race below. Switzerland's Daniela Ryf, recent third place finisher in the BG Madrid World Cup took the win, after the medalists all secured a big lead on the bike section, heading into T2. For the men, a huge pack, including Alistair Brownlee and Todd Leckie entered T2 together in (still...) wet conditions, including 2007 champion Gregor Bucholz from Germany. Brownlee looking very strong, and Leckie still going well in the top five, with Brownlee 11 seconds clear after lap one of three. Into lap three, that has extended to 26 seconds, with surprisingly, Leckie still hanging tough in the top five. However, Brownlee cruised to Gold, adding to his own Gold & Silver in the Junior category from Lausanne and Hamburg, and younger brother Jonathon winning bronze in the junior event on Thursday. Todd Leckie finished a very encouraging fourth, just 35 seconds down on Alistair.
