Wattbike's on show at TCR Visitors to the TCR show this weekend will have the opportunity to find out exactly how good their cycling is by testing themselves on the revolutionary new Wattbike. It's the only static bike that British Cycling has ever endorsed, and took seven years to develop. The Wattbike accurately measures power output, cycling efficiency and speed. And, because every Wattbike is exactly identical, a whole new sport of indoor cycle racing is emerging – perfect for avoiding the snow! Wattbikes will feature in the Cycle Zone at TCR and visitors can not only get instant feedback on their cycling ability and technique, but can also record times over set distances to be uploaded to the new online ranking system. The challenge is for triathletes to set down some fast times for the cycling community to compete with! Standard distances include 200m, 750m, 1km, 3km and 4km. Visitors can also test their peak power output against the like of Sir Chris Hoy – the test takes just 6 seconds. How do you measure up? Bring your kit and find out! The Wattbike is designed to feel like you're riding a real bike. You can adjust rolling as well as climbing resistance whilst getting instant feedback across 27 different parameters via the on board monitor. You can also hook up your Wattbike to a PC to record and analyze your performance. Power based training is considered to be more accurate than heart rate training because you can instantly get up to your required intensity during timed intervals rather than waiting for your heart rate to build up to the right level. Using the Wattbike offers the opportunity to train smarter and measure improvements. Test it for yourself at TCR and see www.wattbike.com for more information.
