2010 British Triathlon Youth and Junior Super Series Announced

British Triathlon is pleased to announce the 2010 British Triathlon Youth and Junior Super Series, which kicks off at the British Elite Duathlon Championships in Loughborough on 28 March.

The British Triathlon Youth and Junior Super Series promises to be an exciting new initiative for 2010. The Series has been designed to bring together the best young triathlon talent from across the UK, so they can race head to head at the most exciting venues in the country. The winners of the Series will be recognised as the strongest performing athletes of the season and each win a share of a £3,000 prize fund.

Each race of the Series has been selected to provide the highest quality racing environment possible to prepare our future Olympic hopefuls for World Class racing. The British Championships for Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquathlon will also be incorporated into the Series..

The Series will include the following events:

  • British Elite Duathlon Championships (28 March) including the Youth and Junior Duathlon Championships in Loughborough.
  • Blenheim Triathlon (5/6 June) in Oxfordshire.
  • Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series (24/25 July) including British Youth and Junior Aquathlon Championships in London.
  • London Triathlon (7/8 August) in Docklands, London.
  • Inter Regional Championships (19 September) including the British Youth Triathlon Championships in Parc Bryn Bach, Wales.
  • British Triathlon Super Series Final (19 September) including British Junior Triathlon Championship in Parc Bryn Bach, Wales.

The Series will provide our most talented and upcoming athletes the opportunity to compete in a World Class environment and go head to head with athletes of similar ability and aptitude. British Triathlon will also be able to use the events to identify potential programme athletes of the future and promote the sport in an exciting and professional manner."

Each of the events will provide a unique opportunity for the young athletes to race alongside their Senior counterparts and experience triathlon at the highest level."
