In a weekend of excellent results for our elite 'Brits abroad', arguably the best was the second place finish of Scotland's Scott Neyedli at Ironman Australia. The 2007 Ironman UK winner has had a few tough times recently, including several bike crashes and a fractured toe in the lead up to the race.

Despite this, and the loss of his primary sponsor at the end of 2010, Scott has managed to keep his training on track and pulled out a great result at Port Macquarie, four minutes down on four-time winner Patrick Vernay.

Scott has just published his race report on his excellent website - www.scottneyedli.com - along will several video blog pieces, including the 'walking down the stairs after an Ironman' shuffle, which many of you will be familiar with: it's just the same for the elite athletes too! Do check them out on his News pages.

Scott is now aiming for a fast race at the Challenge Roth event this summer, venue of Chrissie Wellington's world record last year, where he hopes to break the British iron-distance record (8:131:53), currently held by Stephen Bayliss (Ironman Austria 2008).
